GroveKIDS
At The Grove, we are here to love, care for, and pray for your children and we are here to support you, the parent. We believe we are not here to babysit your children: our goal in Children's Ministry is to create an irresistible environment where every child can fully connect with God from birth through fifth grade.
OUR VALUES...
SAFETY: We will provide a safe environment for your children to enjoy. In every area and with every detail, we will help them to feel safe while you attend the worship service. Our goal is for you to feel assured of your child's safety. All our volunteers have undergone a screening process and have been approved by a staff member to work with children. Also, there will be a minimum of two adults in every room to care for your child.
FUN: We want your kids to have the best hour of their week! We think it is okay to have fun at church! Our desire is to see your kid have such a good time that they will be begging you to come back next week. We believe that creating this fun environment for kids will help them in learning more about Jesus.
TRUTH: We desire to teach your children about Jesus. At the same time, we understand that spiritual development is a process and should not be rushed. Lessons about Jesus and the Bible will be age appropriate and will help them understand God's love and plan for their life.
SUPPORT: Parenting is one of the hardest jobs on the planet and we want to be a constant support for you. We want to partner with you and help you in any way we can. What we do on Sunday morning should not be a mystery to you and we commit to communicating with you as much as possible.
OUR CURRICULUM…
In our preschool environment called WAUMBA LAND , we use a curriculum called First Look. Its focuses are teaching one key truth for an entire month, engaging the senses through creative activities, and provides parents with ideas for conversation with their child at home. The three things we want preschool children to know are:
-
God made me.
-
God loves me.
-
Jesus wants to be my friend forever.
Each week is full of objects for kids to touch, wild and wiggly activities to get them moving, crafts they will love getting into, and real life situations they can relate to. Our goal is to help each child master one concept at a time by creatively repeating the Bottom Line in a way that it will stick.
In our elementary environment called UPSTREET, we use a curriculum called 252 Basics. It is built around three basic truths every child should embrace, according to the life Jesus modeled in Luke 2:52.
-
I need to make the wise choice.
-
I can trust God no matter what.
-
I should treat others the way I want to be treated.
As with our kids in Waumba Land, our goal in UpStreet is to help each child master one concept at a time by creatively repeating the Bottom Line in a way that it will stick.
Parents are a big part of the spiritual development process. Each week Waumba Land and UpStreet kids will receive information for parents to help their children continue learning throughout the week.We always want you to know exactly what your child is learning.
